In Reception, we recognise that your child's development happens both inside and outside of school. We would love to see these achievements so that your child can share them with us and their friends.

You can send videos and photographs to us via Evidence Me.

Every day your child will bring home their reading book and folder. The expectation is that you hear your child read every day and fill in their reading diary as this allows us to see how your child is getting on. 

Please return your child's reading folder every day as we hear each child read every week. 

Please continue to use the grapheme cards that are in your child's folder, to help with recognition of individual letters and sounds.

Your child's phonic workbook is also kept in their reading diary. With your child, please regularly work on previously taught sounds within the booklet - you can ask your child to practise reading and writing the individual graphemes and words. You will also find cumulative sentences to support your child in practising reading sentences which contain words which include the taught graphemes.

If there are ever any homework tasks based on one of our areas of learning, they will be as practical as possible and posted on Evidence Me.
