ENGLISH

Our English lessons link to a quality text that engages the children. This half-term we are reading  'The Bad Beginning'  by Lemony Snicket. The children will be writing character and setting descriptions. They will be focussing on the way writers develop cohesion in their writing. In addition, the children will be writing a balanced argument based on their Geography knowledge of fossil fuels. 

SCIENCE

The children will be completing a STEM Challenge (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) which focusses on chain reactions.

DESIGN and TECHNOLOGY

The children are becoming toy designers for Smyth's Toystore. They will be designing and making a toy with a cam mechanism for a younger child. They will link with our Y1 class for this project. 

GEOGRAPHY

The Unit of Work focusses on learning about fossil fuels and renewable energy sources.
